Not every love story has a happy ending. Some just change your life.

Liz Atwater’s happily ever after was torn from her the instant her husband, Jack, was murdered. She is forced to pick up the shattered pieces of her life and raise her three young sons alone.

Reynolds Carter’s picture perfect Hollywood life ended the moment the paparazzi got hold of his girlfriend’s cheating scandal. As he watches his life unfold in the tabloids, he comes to a crossroads in his career and his purpose.

When Reynolds takes on the challenge of a new project, his world collides with that of Liz. Neither of them expected their professional relationship to evolve into friendship, or love.

But life is never simple.

Faced with complications from family, friends, and colleagues, Liz and Reynolds are left to decide whether two people from such different worlds can find happiness together.

Can they get past the pain, fear, and guilt and risk their hearts to love again?

Not every love story is just a happy ending. Some completely change your life.

Past Heaven by Laura Ward
Emotional, meaningful and delivers a message, am I changing……gosh I hope not. I'm just broadening my horizons. This is so not my typical book to just pick up and read......but I'm so glad I did, I LOVED it.

It does NOT involve the alpha male, I so love. It involves Reynolds Carter. The Hollywood Hottie that's looking for a change. I could NOT put this book down. I loved Reynolds, I loved Liz, I loved her boys, and I LOVED their relationship.

They go on a journey and experience what they NEVER expected to fine.

"Not every love story has a happy ending, but the great ones, no matter how they end, change your life. Love is the only thing more powerful in this world than death. Love transcends. And in the end, all any of us can hope for, is a love that is past heaven".

This book has smoldering chemistry and has somewhat graphic but not explicit sex love scenes, and I still loved it. I was anticipating it almost as much as Reynolds and Liz. One of the scenes that stood out for me was the Christmas gift from the boys and Liz to Reynolds....MY eyes welled up with tears! I also found myself smiling at scenes like I'm a silly little school girl. Gosh, my next read HAS to be a killer/mafia/biker book or they are going to ask me to turn in my Alpha Male Lover Card!

I wrestled with the rating on this book because the topic was so different and the writing was so much tamer than the books I love and give higher ratings to, but I can actually see this made into a TV movie and enjoy it all over again....5 stars it is!

  1. I love Alpha males, too! Reynolds' character spoke SO loudly to me as I was writing, that I just had to make him a sweeter guy. Thanks for this review and the 5 stars!
