First I have to say, I listened to 3 of the 4 previous books in this series and I loved them. I enjoyed the storyline and LOVED the accents, especially in book 3, An Obsession with Vengeance. Maksim is my favorite. He's a sexy, dirty talking, Russian mobster. Anyhoo.

I needed some time to mull this one over and my rating was subject to change. My imagination went wild with the image of Lucian and thinking about how sexy his Romanian accent would sound when he is talking dirty to me, I mean to Yasmeen. But OMG........he is CRAZY as a loon!! A Total PSYCHOPATH. 

Lucian is grieving his brother's death and needing revenge. He plans this elaborate scheme to feed his obsession while controlling his demons. He is obsessed with Yasmeen and she secretly covets him. Ya think it would be idea......but nooooo. The "relationship" that he and she has is soooooo one-sided, at times I really felt bad for her. 

He is very dark, controlling and demanding. Yasmeen is guarded due to her upbringing but wears a completely different facade for the outside world. She soothes and calms Lucian's demons and brings out the empathetic side of him (it's buried so deep inside). That's when he gives her what she craves......attention and the feeling of being loved.

Now, the important part, the sex. The BDSM was not a turn on or off for me. I have read about more intense acts, this was just enough. (BTW, I know this maybe TMI but I kind of liked the furry tail.) I didn't like him calling her pet and some of the things he had her do. And I absolutely hated his reasoning for having her there, but I know that somehow the author is going to REDEEM him and make him WORTHY. 

So, now I will just have to wait for part two.
